| Sheryl Crow Biography |
On the 11th February 1962 Sheryl Crow was born in Kennet Missouri. Her family was full of music from the start with her father playing in swing bands and her mother playing the piano. Sheryl began her musical career at 5 when she started piano lessons and composed her first song at the age of 13. She attended the University of Missouri in Columnbia where she majored in music.
A true rock star that worked her way up, Sheryl moved to Los Angeles in 1986 where she worked as a waitress at first before managing to secure some commecial jobs before sucessfully auditioning as a backup singer for Michael Jackson. She later also worked as a backup singer for Sting, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder and Rod Stewart.
Sheryl's first record label came in the form of A&M Records where she produced an album although it was never released. Later she was invited to take part in jam sessions at locals clubs. Soon the Tuesday Night Music Club had been born. This was tolead her on to her debut album.
Tuesday Night Music Club was released in 1993 heading up the charts in early 1994 due to the success of songs developed in the jam sessinos including Leaving Las Vegas. Unfortunatly soon after the album was released two of her former bandmates comited suicide. After released All I Wanna Do, Sheryl began picking up awards including two Grammys.
In 1996 Sheryl released a self titled album after Bottrell abandoned her. However the new album began producing hits with If It Makes You Happy sprawling into the charts. Best of all the album annoyed Wal-Mart enough for them to withdraw it. Sheryl went on to release the albums, The Global Sessions (1998) and Sheryl Crow and Friends (1999) and in late 2003, Greatest Hits. |
