Before this album had even come out it had a bad write-up. Why? Because Lindsay Lohan is an actor and actors and musicians do not mix. The acceptation to the rule would of course be Will Smith who has both awesome songs and does great movies (Independence Day rules!).

Yet I have a deep dark secret – I cannot get some of these songs out of head. Scary I know, though the simple thought that any of us could ever like something produced by the new generation of music actor celebrities.

Be reassured in the fact that this is not mindless generic pop. Lindsay has gone all rock chick on us and I recommend that you head over to Launch (Yahoo Music, whatever you want to call it these days) and check out her exclusive performance of Speak for them.

She is on her way to becoming the Donnas. That said, there is still a pop side to her and there is the whole celebrity image. The Donnas rule but that is a different issue altogether. The point I am making is that there is a hint of rock to make is slightly more cultural acceptable.

The album has a solid feel to it, though it’s not the most consistent album I have ever heard it is far from a patchwork mess. Plus you seem to go through it at ultra speed. You can play a song to death in a day and you go through different songs being you’re favourite in a matter of hours. It’s like all the regular excitement of an album but compressed into a week or two.

That said there is a downside to this – though I haven’t had the album long and haven’t really got bored of it, though based on the speed I am moving through it I would say that it won’t have the longest lifetime ever.

Still considering the typical standard everyone was expecting Speak to be, it’s a solid album and if you are a Lindsay fan it is something you will most defiantly want to check out.
